Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does CimpactPro CBAM solve?
It manages the processes of calculating the embedded emissions of products covered by the EU Borderline Carbon Regulation, collecting primary data from the supplier, generating quarterly reports and preparing for the post-2026 certification period on a single platform. The goal is not only to submit declarations, but also to align procurement and investment decisions with data, anticipating cost and competitive impact.
Which product groups are covered by the software?
Product and process-based calculations are made for the HS codes included in the regulation, especially iron and steel, aluminum, cement, fertilizer, hydrogen and electricity. As your product portfolio expands, new HS codes can be introduced within the same data model.
What is the difference between a transitional period and a permanent period?
During the transition period, quarterly reports are sent and no financial burden arises. In the permanent period, certificate-based financial burden comes into play and certificate trading and balance management is required. The software manages the rules of both periods in separate rule sets and builds the data model for the permanent period.
What data should we collect?
Primary data such as BOMs, process parameters, energy consumption, fuel data, upstream product inputs and logistics are prioritized. Primary data is collected through the supplier portal; reliable secondary sources and emission factors are used where necessary and clearly disclosed in the report.
How does the supplier portal work?
Requests are sent to suppliers with standard forms and mandatory field controls. Data flow is organized with reminders and deadline management. The information entered is automatically linked to product and process setups and passes through verification checks.
What does upstream product and process chain management provide?
The emission chain of semi-finished and intermediate products is linked to the BOM. This enables realistic decomposition of embedded emissions, simulating alternative recipes or suppliers to find the lowest emission and cost combinations.
How does it calculate direct and indirect emissions?
Direct emissions from process and fuel are disaggregated by product, along with indirect emissions from purchased electricity and heat. Parameters such as local energy mix and grid losses are included in the model to produce results close to real life.
How to produce official output templates?
XML and PDF files are automatically generated in accordance with the CBAM Communication Template. Mandatory field and consistency checks are completed before submission, reducing the risk of returns and last-minute errors.
How is compensation for the carbon price paid handled in the country?
Compensation mechanisms and equivalence practices for deducting the carbon prices paid in the country from the CBAM cost are built in the software. The cost calculation is updated by associating the relevant payments and documents.
How do they manage multi-company and multi-location structures?
Multiple importer or manufacturer units can be managed under one roof. With role- and authorization-based access, teams only perform transactions in the areas they are responsible for; Consistency between periods is maintained with consolidation and report copying.
How do I work with Verifier?
If permitted by the external verifier or the organization, you may be given access to certain data as a consultant. This access is limited and for observation, review and note-taking purposes only. The consultant can share back with the user the findings of the verification process. Documents and annotations are kept under controlled access; revisions are tracked by the system.
What languages and report formats does it support?
Interface and report outputs can be produced in Turkish and English. XML and PDF files compatible with official templates are imported directly from the software.
How can EcoPilot help me in practice?
EcoPilot guides correct category and factor choices in data entry, flags missing and unusual values, and suggests methodology notes in the report wizard. Q&As are archived, speeding up repetitive work.
What do analytics and dashboards offer?
Provides emission and cost visibility across product, process and supplier breakdowns. Improves data quality and decision quality with anomaly detection, trend and density analysis.
How is data and methodology versioning managed?
Emisyon faktörleri, metodoloji notları ve raporlar versiyonlar halinde saklanır. Hangi dönemin hangi versiyonla hesaplandığı raporda açıkça görülebilir; karşılaştırmalar tutarlı kalır.
What is the security approach?
Role-based access, corporate directory and single sign-on support, encryption and detailed log management are offered. Redundancy and availability ensure uninterrupted operation during peak reporting periods.
Is on-premise installation or custom development possible?
Yes. On-premise installation, multi-company management panel and custom integration projects are implemented when necessary.
What is the training and support model?
Onboarding is accelerated with training videos, guides and live sessions. Requests are prioritized and monitored through the ticket-based support system; accelerated support is applied during critical periods.
How does the process work when an incorrect submission or correction is required?
Revision flows are versioned within the software, changes are logged and the relevant XML/PDF is reproduced. Revisions are completed in a recorded manner in line with feedbacks.
Can declarations be made on behalf of different importers?
Multiple importers and product lines can be managed on the same platform. Authorization and data ownership rules are defined on importer basis; reports are generated in separate files.
How to protect confidential information and supplier privacy?
Data in the supplier portal is only visible to users within the relevant role and contract. Sharing policies and anonymization options meet privacy requirements.
What happens if the BOM changes during the period?
BOM changes are saved as versions with date stamps. At the close of the period, the calculation is made on the current version; past versions are kept in the archive.
How do we balance primary and secondary data?
Priority is given to primary data. If not enough, allowed secondary sources are used and clearly indicated in the report. The software maps these preferences to annotation notes.
How is pricing determined?
The scope is determined by the number of companies, integration needs and selected modules. After a short exploration and trial flow, a clear offer is shared.
